Five thoughtful gifts under $80 — and what we'd actually pick for each person on your list.

A small holiday gifting guide

Every year a few customers ask the same question in late October: "What should I get for my sister-in-law / boss / kid's teacher?" Here's what we usually say.

For your sister-in-law you don't know that well.

The Trio Gift Set ($68). Three 4 oz candles in our most universally loved scents — Cedarwood & Saffron, Orange Blossom & Honey, Linen & Lemon. Hand-tied in a kraft box. Safe pick, never wrong.

For your kid's teacher.

A single 9 oz Linen & Lemon ($34). Clean, fresh, classroom-friendly. Add a hand-written tag if you have time.

For your boss.

The Cedarwood Reed Diffuser ($42). Doesn't require an open flame on a desk, lasts months, looks elegant on a credenza.

For your dad who doesn't want anything.

Smoked Mesquite candle ($36) plus Hearth Room Spray ($22). He'll never admit he loves it. He'll burn it every night.

For the friend who has everything.

A six-scent Sample Flight ($42). It's a tiny adventure. They get to pick their own favorite. You look thoughtful.

Order by December 12th for guaranteed Christmas delivery in the lower 48.
