1. Who we are

This website (kashmiradesign.com) is operated by Kashmira Design Studio, a sole-proprietor design practice registered in the State of California. Our studio is at 4514 Ashcraft Court, San Diego, CA 92123. You can reach our data-protection contact at manager@kashmiradesign.com or on (619) 377-7765.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information you knowingly give us and a small amount of technical information collected automatically when you visit the site.

Information you provide. When you submit our contact form, subscribe to the journal, or email the studio, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the address or general area of the property you are asking about, and the message you send us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we log your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited and approximate location (city / state level). This is used to keep the site secure and to understand which pages our visitors read most.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you give us for the specific purpose you gave it: to answer your inquiry, discuss your project, prepare a proposal, or send you the journal you subscribed to. We also use it to keep records of client engagements as required by California business law and by our professional insurers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertisers. We do not use your information to build profiles of you across other websites.

4. Legal basis

We rely on your consent (which you may withdraw at any time) for marketing communications such as the studio journal, on the performance of a contract for active client engagements, and on our legitimate business interest for basic website analytics and record-keeping.

5. Who we share your information with

We share your personal information with a small number of trusted service providers, only where it is necessary to run our business, and only under written contract:

Our email provider (Google Workspace) for storing and sending email.
Our accounting provider for issuing invoices to active clients.
Our website host for delivering this website to your browser.
Our analytics provider, if you accept analytics cookies.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights and safety of the studio, our clients or the public.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep inquiry emails and contact-form submissions for up to twenty-four months, after which they are deleted unless you have become a client. Active client records are kept for seven years after the end of the engagement, in line with California record-keeping guidance. Journal subscribers are kept on our list until they unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) and comparable laws, you have the right to:

Know what personal information we hold about you.
Request a copy of that information in a portable format.
Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share).
Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email manager@kashmiradesign.com. We will verify your identity and respond within forty-five days.

8. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections. Personal information is stored in access-controlled cloud services and on studio computers protected by disk encryption and strong passphrases.

9. Children

This site is not directed to children under thirteen and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any material changes to this page and update the “last updated” date at the top. For substantial changes we will also let subscribers know by email.
