Every Kashmira project moves through the same four phases. Nothing skipped, nothing rushed. Below is what actually happens, week by week.
Home visit, brief, budget, honest scope conversation.
Plans, mood, materials, joinery direction and a first cost plan.
Documentation, procurement, contractor coordination, weekly site visits.
Install day, styling, walk-through and a written care guide.
Every project begins with an unhurried phone call. If it feels like a fit on both sides, we schedule a two-hour visit to your home. We walk every room, ask a lot of questions, and take almost no photographs on the first pass. What we're really looking for is how you use the house — where the mail lands, where the kids do homework, which chair is the only one anyone ever sits in.
Within a week of the visit, you receive a written brief that plays back what we heard, along with a proposed scope of work, a rough programme and a fee agreement. Nothing gets drawn until the brief is countersigned.
This is where most of the design thinking happens. We share two rounds of plans, a mood direction, and a curated set of materials — usually about forty samples, narrowed to twelve, then to five. We meet you every second week, either at the studio on Ashcraft Court or on site, and every meeting ends with a written summary.
By the end of this phase you will have signed off on the plan, the palette, the joinery direction, the lighting strategy and a first cost plan itemised down to the door handle. There should be no surprises after this point.
We produce full construction and joinery documentation, procure every piece of furniture and finish, and manage your contractor day-to-day. Your project lead visits site at least weekly and files a written report every Friday afternoon. If anything changes on site, it's discussed, priced and approved before a tool comes out.
You should feel comfortable calling us at any point. Most of our clients do.
Install day is one of our favourite days. Everything is delivered, unwrapped, placed, styled and photographed inside a single working week. When you come home, the beds are made, the towels are folded, and there is usually a small bunch of flowers and a bottle of local wine on the kitchen counter.
Two weeks after install we come back for a walk-through, adjust anything that isn't sitting quite right, and leave you with a bound care guide — paint codes, fabric care, warranty registrations, vendor contacts and the phone number of our favourite handyman.
Most of our clients wait a season too long. The good news is we can usually meet within two weeks.
